Yes. And most of the people I know who have had it done had to take them out becuz of infection. Think long & hard about this one.

My daughter had it done and she says it hurts less than getting your ears peirced.was swollen for about 4 days now it is fine :)

The actual piercing itself only hurts for a moment. Afterwards you do have a little pain and swelling, but it doesn't last long. The part that does hurt is when they grab your tongue with the clamps, pull it out of your mouth, and grip it hard to pierce it. That hurts more than the actual piercing does.
If your worried about infection like all the other people are talking about, use listerine several times a day to keep it clean till it heals up.obviously the people they were referring to didn't know how to care for it. If you don't like it you can take it out at any time and it will close up. Your tonue is the part of your body that heals the fastest so don't leave it out.even after a day you can tell it's healing cause it'll hurt like hell when you put the ring back in because the hole shrinks. I've had mine done now for 6 years. I had swelling for two days, but if you use listerine and eat soup and jello the first couple days you won't have any problems.

I imagine so, seriously..Don't actually cut yourself but take a fork and just apply pressure on your tongue with one of the spikes, like I said, don't make yourself bleed or anything but eventually it will hurt like hell. Also, maybe with tongue piercing, they numb you. I'm not sure, but either way it will hurt afterwards!

it does hurt. it's not very good either. it messes up the way u talk, even if u take it out. then you get problems with ur speech. i knew someone who's tongue was pierced, but she talked all funny. u could understand a word she said. a heavy new york accent with a tongue pierced kind of accent. hysterical, really. but it was really annoying cuz i was always like, "WHAT R U SAYING?!?!?"

It hurts and there are some health issues involved. Definitely want to do more research before you get it done.
write with some permentnt markers,, solves the problem of piearcing.. and boy. tongue is not a marketing agency to show sign boards. use it for some other good reasons
