I have these red bumps on the back of my arms and regular lotion doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

I have them too! just on my arms. I don't have the shingles or anything. They are much worse in the winter. I think it has to do with dry skin.

Go see a doctor.

Sometimes you are born with things they call Strawberry patches, which are little red bumps. Strawberry Patches don't itch or anything though, and you normally get them when you are cold or nervous or something like that. You should still go to a doctor but it could be something as simple as that!

It could possibly be scabies if it itches. If so they have a great lotion that you apply and remove 24 hrs. later by showering. Don't be afraid but scabies is another word for body lice it's easily cured though. Just visit your doctor. And God Bless!

The athiest is right, it could be shingles. However, shingles also causes flu like symptoms and an extreme pain at the rash site. It could also be something more simple. A contact allergy (try sensitive skin soap and mild detergent, unscented lotion, etc.) could be the cause. It could also be exzema. It can show up in people who never previously showed symptoms. In that case cortizone cream that is sold over the counter is a big relief. If you don't have any other symptoms I would try these remedies. If they don't work you can go to your family doctor and see what she thinks. Let her know the remedies you tried and your results. P.S. After you try the mild soaps and the cortizone, you may want to try letting the rash soak in Head and shoulders shampoo for about 5 minutes for about three days. Head and shoulders kills most fungal infections. Good luck, and try not to irritate it by scratching or picking at it:)

Elementary School teacher and Mom. I've seen every rash imaginable.

!! I've had those my whole life but have no idea what they are. i don't think they have anything to do with dry skin (as far as my arms are concerned).

i don't think they are excema, like another answer said, because that's not something you develope, it's something you are born with.

anyway, i can't way to see what other answers you get.
