according to the 4 years of psychology studies I have done, (And a whole lot of personal experience and history that I dont need to get into here)
Science, Psychiatry, and Psychology at this point agree that homosexuality is at least in part genetic, possibly "CO RELATED" to, ( not created by) upbringing,( the nature vs nurture dispute), and prenatal hormones ( see "Psychology today" text).
A double-blind study of male brains post-autopsy showed a difference in the hypothalamus in gay males.
Also, a study of prenatal hormones that were altered in a study of sheep showed that increased levels of testosterone contributed to homosexual behaviours in the female offspring.
Having said all that scientific mumbo-jumbo.
you ARE born gay, you can choose to supress it for a period of time, at the risk of your sanity, happiness and enjoyment of life, ( as i did) or you can just learn to accept yourself, and everyone else.
If we all spent a little more time loving one another and working on our own shortcomings, and if we spent a whole lot less time worrying about others and what they should be doing,( which the bible tells us not to judge, lest ye be judged) and 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
we would ALL be alot better off!!

i say developed, but it wud suck to have a gay son, and i say that they should alter a gay persons genes, unless its hot lesbians, than you should leave them alone.
Genetic but can be supressed by normal family upbringing. If anyone in your family is also homosexual you will learn their ways. Just be yourself and live happily.

There is no gay gene! People choose to be gay, and then say the reason that they sin is because they are born that way and have no control over it. I'm just sick of that. This should be in the science catagory.
Hi! I have also wondered the same thing about homosexuality because I have a male friend who is a homosexual and we talk alot about it. He told me that he has always known he was different, but he tried to ignore it and he even tried to date girls as a teenager, but he always knew what he was. I told him that I couldn't understand how someone could just be born gay because I believe in God and although I am not prejudice, and I do not dislike people who are not heterosexual, I do feel for them because I fear for their soul. The Bible specifically talks about homosexuals and says that is an abomination to God and I just have a hard time believing that God, who is the life giver anyway, would create a child, knowing that he/she will one day grow up and be attracted to members of the same sex. I do however, believe in generational curses, passed down because of parent's sins, or grandparent's sins, etc. The Bible talks about all of these things, mostly in the Old Testament, in Leviticus. I hope this answer did shed some light on your question. I do not in anyway condemn homosexuals, I simply wish that they all knew the truth about their lifestyle. The Bible is very clear about how God feels about homosexuality, therefore, I cannot see how homosexuality can be genetics. It is a personal choice to either be straight as God intended, or homosexual as satan intended, each person must choose who they will follow. Good luck in finding the answer to your questions.

i think you become gay because of some experiences, you aren't born gay, you become gay.
I believe most gay people are born that way, but some are gay as the result of abuse. The word used originally in the bible was a word which stood for a Spartan system of male homosexual pedophilia and not homosexuality. The bible has been translated repeatedly and loses some of its original context each time. Additionally, it has been manipulated by politicians and religious leaders to control the populace. It is wise to keep that in mind while reading the bible. Another point to consider is, if God truly feels strongly that homosexuality is wrong then why did David, who had a homosexual love affair with Saul's son Jonathan, remain in God's favor until he engineered Bathsheba's husband's death?
