Need mature answers--Lady's Over 50?

Am I being too critical when I look in the mirror, really closely. My skins looks awful! I saw a doctor 2 days ago and he said he has seen women in thyeir 30's with really horrible old skin! Mine was okay, but when I lok in the mirror, it's like a horror movie. Could it be the light in that room? Because I can't see this anywhere else. Right now how I look is super important to me! Help

I have a ganglion cyst and it looks horible. do somebody know how to get rid of this withour any operation?

Answers:
I am at the skin doctor alot as I have biopsies all of the time. I always look HORRIBLE in the mirror. It's the lighting. Not only is it really bright, but it's kind of green. I'm sure that you loook great. If you have a special event coming up, I highly recommend Natura Bisse glycolic peel 25%. USe it twice a week for a month, then twice a month. It is amazing. If you can spring for some La Mer, it's worth it too. I used to have terrible skin. I broke out in hives and my skin was very uneven, huge a** pores. Now I have really nice skin. Just writing that chokes me up, that's how upset my complexion used to make me. Oh. and of course, drinks tons of water.

fair skin..?

what's the average running speed in a marathon?

How old are you? Is your doctor a dermatologist (skin doctor)? Do you have a lot of wrinkles? Is your skin dry and flaky? Do you have a lot of keratoses (dry patches that look like warts)? Those are the marks of aging and sun exposure.

But it sounds as if the lighting for your mirror is not all that good. Certain angles of light can make you look really bad while other lighting can make you look a lot better.

Stop freaking about it. We all get old, and you will never have the same face you had at 20. To keep it looking its best, stay out of the sun (it damages your collagen), keep it clean (using Cetaphil or similar cleansers), get facials four times a year, lubricate dry skin, and see your dermatologist once a year for routine inspections.

Why do they call what you sleep in a Nightie?

As we get older our skin looses a lot of its natural moisture which can cause the skin to look dry and older. Use a moisturizer soap and lotion. You can also use a day and a night cream to help keep the skin moisturized.

Depending on where you live..there are dermatologists all over the country that are offering more and more skin treatments. Less invasive ones at that. I would check on the Internet in your area and see what is available to you and then make an appt. Most places won't charge for a consultation. You just have to be open minded especially about prices because insurance won't cover most procedures. However most of these places offer payment programs if that is an issue. If you are that bothered by your skin do something now.

Eat a diet loaded with vitamin E & vitamin A like sweet potatoes & carrots. Also drink lots of water. Vitamin A foods not supplements can reduce the signs of aging in the skin.

Does Preperation H really help firm the areas around your eyes?

Well I am not even close to my 30's.But, I think that when you look in the mirror you notice flaws that other people don't see. It is all in your head, I have the same problem, but with scars. I talked to my psychiatrist about it and she said that I only see every little detail because I know what I did but it is all in my head, they are actually faded and not very noticeable.

That would go with you too.

I hope that helps.

has anyone ever used Cetaphil? and does it work good?

Lancome is good.but also you must have enough good sleep, no less than 8 hours, no smoke at all, drink just light wine. Everybody knows that you must drink a lots of water (important - drink it slowly by small sips.)
Very important to have a good dermatologist.

I have what is called Boop pneunimonia. Does any one know about this disease>>>?

pinch the skin at your jaw line in all directions. if it is soft and pliable, you have nothing to worry about.
if it feels thick , hard, and kind of lizardy then go get a microdermabrasion treatment done. you will notice a difference with the very first treatment. the esthetician will probably tell you to do 2 a week for 3 or 4 weeks - this is not necessary.
listen, you are coming into the age of WISDOM. i can't wait till i get there! you are at a time in your life that you can be all that you've become over the years and do it with your head held high KNOWING that you've been there and done that and had the t-shirt so long it's now a cleaning rag!
