Results vary with this particular medication. Personally as a Naturopath I am against it as it is often prescribed without any counselling etc to go with it and it winds up masking the underlying problem which can be catastrophic when it decided to surface later in a much more severe way.
If you are going to take it then make yourself aware of the side effects firstly so you will recognize them when they occur, and secondly make sure you are recieving counselling for the problems that took you there in the first place.

Zoloft made me suicidal and killed my sex drive. Horrible stuff.Zoloft comes with a lot of side effects and personally I think you should talk to your doctor about other options.
I was put on Zoloft at 15 and when I went in for a check up I wound up seeing another doctor since mine was out.I was a low dose and sense I had no side effects the doctor told me it was not working and doubled my dose.My hands started shaking uncontrollably and to this day I still have this problem though it has calmed down a bit..

Any medication can affect people differently. Some it may help and other will not get the same benefits. I have a friend who has been on it for about 8 years. It was a life saver for him. He gets really depressed if he doesn't take it but he is happy and fine when he does. There is no way to know how it will affect an individual until they have tried it.It's a good Med! ask your doctor.

Did not do a DAMN thing for me.Absolutely. This is a good anti-depressant. I take one tab of 50mg daily and a 25mg dose of seroquel in the evening which lets me sleep a good 8 hours and have some really wicked dreams. I never valued sleep so much until I started to calm down from these drugs. I exercise regularly and get great sleep.if you are debating ssri's talk to your doc. be honest with them.these pharmaceuticals can really change your outlook on life..things aren't so dark
