What can I do do get tanning bed sun burn relief?

Question:
I went tanning today and got a bad burn on my back, stomach and butt. What helps to relieve pain and ease redness quickly? How can I keep this from happening the next time I go in the tanning bed?

Answers:
Use some moisturizer with Aloe Vera in it. Apply this several times during the day.
In the future, I would suggest you not spend as much time in there.
Did you use a tanning bed or a stand up tanner? I find I am more susceptible to burns from the bed than the upright. Try those instead. Also, you need to build up a base tan first. The first few times you go to tan, don't go for the full amount of time (usually 15-20 minutes in the uprights). Go for about half that time. Then, go again a few days later. You need to get a base tan first.

Other Answers:
I am fair skinned and tend to burn easily. I put Aloe Vera gel on it. Or you can take a bath in vinegar and water if you don't want to bathe in vinegar you can soak a towel or washcloth in vinegar and water and put it on your skin that will take the burn out. Try going in the tanning bed for less time than you did this time. Ask them if they just got new bulbs so you will know to decrease your time. Try not to fall asleep and stay in too long.

What I did, and it works but stinks, is pour some vinegar on the burn, it helps to release some of the heat from it, I fell asleep in a tanning bed once, and all the aloe vera in the world would just make me stick to whatever I was sitting up against.

Good Luck Crispy

Alovera gel helps with all sunburns next times don’t stay in as long but you burning will be gone by the morning.

I use Cetaphil. It's a lotion thats like really good for ur sin i guess. I went go to a dermatologist and thats what she said to get. It works pretty good!

Try pure Aloe Vera or Silvadene cream. Don't go back to the tanning bed until your burn is totally gone. Next time go for a shorter period of time until your tan builds up.

Haha i had this happen to me too. Well first i have to ask, are you fair skinned. If you are then don't go very often. I am very white. What i do is i rotate every 3 min so i don't get the UV rays on me full concentration the whole. Use sunscreen. And don't go in for a long time. And for the burn. Use lots of aloe vera gel not lotion. It will sting like hell. Use cold compress to draw the heat our of your body. And take pain killers to ease the pain. Sitting i a cold bath will also help. Be careful what clothes you wear, because it can irritate you sunburn. Hope this helps.
