If your period is light, you can stay in the water and you're flow will stop. So long as you stay wet, you should be okay. I tried this when we had a waterski trip planned on my second period and it worked. Just make sure that when you get out of the water you use a pad, or you just jump back in again to get wet. Not quite sure why this works.

The solution is to use a tampon. It's really not a big deal.
You really don't have much choice other than a tampon. Make sure you get the correct size and insert the tampon correctly.
FDA regulates the safety and effectiveness of tampons. Before tampons can be sold in the United States, FDA reviews and clears the product's design and materials. The only materials used in tampons sold in the United States are cotton, rayon, or blends of the two.

God, just use a tampon! What's the big deal about it? If you don't use one, then you'll sit by the pool with your pad on.
The first summer we moved back to Texas I was not going to sit out from swimming all summer, so I began using tampons. Used them ever since & you never miss out on swimming fun. It's not a big deal.
Looks like you'll either be wearing a tampon, be sitting on the sidelines, or be in a blood bath (and you don't want that). Try the tampons! They will revolutionize your life!
