stomach virus?
i have diarhea and anything i put into me comes out one way or another i puked up pepto bismal and i didn't think taht was possible so my question is how long does this last and is there anything i can take to get better faster

Don't take immodium or anything else to stop your symptoms; they will just delay the process of eliminating the pathogens. If you become dehydrated (scant, dark urine, sunken eyes, etc), develop a high fever, rapid pulse or other serious symptoms, seek medical attention.
As for the poster below who advises you to seek antibiotics for a VIRUS from a doctor. that's just stupid. Antibiotics are useless against viruses, and they tend to kill off the beneficial bacteria in the gut. This can lead to even WORSE diarrhea.

You should try eating saltines and drinking plenty of clear liquids. If you have a virus they can run (no pun intended) any where from 24 hours up to a week. You could have simply eaten something that was bad. If you start running a fever or don't get to feeling any better within 48 hours of the onset of your symptoms I would call the doctor. You don't want to get dehydrated.Proactive..Does it really work?
Well if you havn't seen a Doctor yet, than you should.I had a stomach virus.. it didn't cause diarrhea but I was in alot of pain. The Doctor I saw gave me antibiotics and something for mild pain.. so looks like there is all kinds of stomach viruses. See a doctor.
Ugh..I feel so sorry for you..I really do..I have been that sick. Your just going to try to live through it, it could last up to a week or it could be one of those 24 hour bugs.
Get as much sleep as you can. If you start to feel like your dehydrated or just need to see a doctor, then GO, don't hesitate. Better safe than sorry I always say.
