how do docter get your due date when your peragnet?

Question:

Answers:
tell me the date of your last menstrual period, and I will tell you

Other Answers:
They figure 40 weeks from the start of your last period.

They go from the first day of your last period, forward two weeks, then add 40 weeks to that-so actually it is 42 weeks from the start of your last cycle. But full term is considered at 38-42 weeks gestation. Just because you have a due date, doesn't mean you will have the baby that day-other factors come in to play, like for instance, if your cycle isn't regular. An ultrasound, before the 12th week of pregnancy, is a real good indicator of exactly how far along you are, and Dr.s will sometimes change your due date according to Ultrasound, performed before your 12th week.
