I broke thermometer and got mercury on my hands. How much can get on one's skin before affecting one's health?

Are you sure it was mercury? Thermometers now days don't have mercury. But, if it is silver, it's mercury, and it is dangerous. Please call your doctor or an emergency room physician and ask them what you need to do. Don't leave this up to an internet site to answer your medical questions, especially with chemicals.
