Does anyone wear their two week contact lenses for four?

Question:
Once I saw on one of those Nightline type shows that there was no difference between two week and four week contact lenses. I told my eye doctor I was wearing them for four instead of two. She said fine as long as I am cleaning them well and not to go over four weeks. Has anyone had problems from doing this?

Answers:
I'm only supposed to use mine for 2 weeks but I make them last until 4. If you don't wear them everyday then it is fine. As long as they don't make your eyes feel itchy or dry then wear them for as long as you want!

i wear my 1 week ones for months and have no problems.they just wanna make more money from you

i have been wearing mine for about 6 months they are working fine i keep them clean and take them out at night so i think your okay

it shouldent bother your eyes at all. i wear my one month contacts for multiple months. i occasionally leave them in at night as well. ive been doing this for about 8 years and havent had any problems.

I have contacts that are supposed to be changed every two months. I usually go a couple of weeks past, but they start to get uncomfortable. As long as you clean them good them you shouldn't have any problems.

It depends on the lens. My contacts, even though i clean then every night, get really uncomfortably after at most 3 weeks, so i change them after 2. But if yours stay comfortable and your eye doctor doesnt see a problem, then good for you, save some money!!

I wear my monthly disposables for up to six monts or longer! When they start feeling gunky, I chuck them.

i once wore 4 week lenses for almost 2 years.then they fell apart and one piece got stuck up under my eyelid for a couple days but no harm done.

You will be fine, there is no difference. Just be sure to clean them well. You can get an eye infection. I used to wear my extended wear(can sleep in them) contacts for weeks without removing them. I don't recommend it, but I didn't have any problems.

I have had mine in for over a year now and they are still ok. I bought six pairs of four week lenses 7 years ago and still have 2 pairs left! I don't take them out every night and haven't ever had any problems.

I wear my 2 week contacts for months and i clean them and they are still working just fine. It saves on money.

Wearing your contact lenses longer than prescribed can greatly increase the risk of getting an eye infection. If your doctor told you it was ok to wear your lenses for 4 weeks, that's fine, but you should not be wearing them for months at a time.
