My 15 year old daughter is taking the antidepressant amitriptylin 25mg/qualitest. Is it safe for her to take?

Does pro - ana work?

Answers:
It certainly not good to depend on drugs. Try mangosteen juice, heard there are more than 33 reasons to consider taking it. It helps in anti-depressant, anti-anxiety etc. Provides her a balance diet. Is good to treat our food as drugs rather than taking drugs. Email me, if you are keen to know more. I can provide the website for you. Take care

ask your DR.

why does POOP smell so bad?

When you got your Rx from the drugstore, they should have given you the pamphlet that tells about the medication. If you didn't get one, go back and ask for it, or ask your doctor. Some antidepressents can have adverse effects on young people. Whatever you do, keep an eye on her for any radical behaviour changes.

Where can i go to get braces for cheep? and how much is it to remove small stains?

I would think that if her doctor prescribed it for her, it would be safe. A lot of people take antidepressants for a number of reasons. They are fairly common, and I would surely think the doctor would be giving her a safe dosage.

well how can i get a perfect six pack abs in abt 2 months?

I highly recommend a book by Sherry Rogers, M.D. called: "Depression Cured At Last". She explains the underlying causes of depression and how to treat the causes (rather than taking dangerous drugs which block symptoms but do not treat the biochemical cause of the depression).

The book is available at Amazon.com or through the publisher at 1-800-846-6687. Depression is a serious disorder and you owe it to yourself and your daughter to learn about its causes and cures.

Best wishes and good luck!

How do you usually react when you fail?

If you have faith & trust in her DR. sounds like an appropriate dose to me..meds aren't always for ever and you will learn something .. if it works .great.if not get her Dr. to stop it & again you have learned something ..may not be best med choice for her try some other medication.

If the white of your eye gets punctured, how do doctors go about fixing it?

Nobody here is qualified to say if it is safe or not but I can tell you that Amitriptyline is not in the same class as the antidepressants that have been supposedly linked to an increase in suicidal behavior in children. Out of pure speculation, I would guess that that is the reason Amitriptyline was chosen, because as far as depression meds go, that stuff is old fashioned.

Fibromyalgia: Any alternatives to antidepressents?

There are studies now that say that antidepressants are more dangerous when taken in adolescents. It also bites because the drugs take up to 4 weeks to become effective meaning that a lot can happen in those 4 weeks. I would say continue to monitor her, if she is declining I would take her back to her Doctor to get rechecked and to get a medication change.

I am bulimic and just found out I also suffer from anorexia?

dont talk to the general public about this, do research from peer reviewed medical journals and other doctors, nurses and mental health professionals. Beware of websites that are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, they might be biased.
