Love is omnipresence, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Topamax can cause the side effects of drowsiness and fatigue. That usually is resolved in the first 8 weeks. You really need to speak to your doctor about this and tell him exactly what you are experiencing because it has been so long. There are other treatments available if Topamax is not right for you.
Here is an important statement about the drug:
------------------------------.
During a recent interview with MAGNUM, Dr. Silberstein elaborated:
"The key to success with Topamax is a very slow titration up to the therapeutic dose. Patients should begin taking only 15 mg, once a day, and taper up slowly from there, being sure to take it in a split dose."
The effective dosages are lower than you might think. Many patients achieve good results at only 50 mg per day."

I have had the same side effect and much more. When I was first put on Topamax, I was so excited, finally a relief from my chronic severe headaches/migraines. Topamax, however, made me not only jittery but I had twitching in my face. I lost the ability to concentrate at work, I lost a lot of weight, but worst of all, I had depressive moods with crying spells and suicidal thoughts. Those side effects are listed in the information supplied with the medication by the manufacturer. The irony is, I was seeing this Dr. Silberstein, that your first respopndent cites. It took one of his nurses to hear me. The man is full of himself and pays no attention to what his patients say. I still think that if all you're suffering is sleep issues, talk to your doctor, maybe he'll suggest something that works for that, and you'll be better off than with chronic migraine.

check out www.remedyfind.com. I'm there as Selma.
I have been on the same dose of Topamax, also for migraines, and have experience some lethargy and tiredness as a result. But, I haven't had any noticeable problem sleeping. Then again, I've always been a notoriously sound sleeper.
On the other hand, I have noticed some of the other Topamax side effects, like reduced mental sharpness and some physical clumsiness.
