I want to get separated from a doctors care. How do I do this?

Question:

Answers:
My understanding is that you can simply tell your doctor you want to be discharged, and they have to do it unless they they have reason to believe you are suicidal or, homicidal (there may be a few other cases). In these cases, they are obligated to have you committed where you wouldn't have access to youqa.com, so I assume this isn't the case.

If you do get committed you probably have the same rights as you would if you got arrested. The right to an attorney, etc. Some people do get committed and end up having to go to court before they are released.

Start taking care of yourself. It depends on what is wrong with you.
