do freeweights.
for chest, do chest press, inclined and decline bench press
with the bench press, you can do for both chest and triceps.
this is the right way to build. and eat well.
chest = bench.
tri's = dips.
To build muscle in general you want to high weight with low repetitions. So do enough weight were you can only do 3-4 reps till failure. Bench press is good for both the chest and biceps. There is also all kinds of exercises that can be done with free weights that work all three.

Push ups. Lots and in perfect form. Have you seen military guys? It is functional muscle, not just bulk. The best thing about it is that you don't need any equipment. "Add" more body resistance by placing your feet higher than your chest, like on a step or a ball or something, and creating a downward incline from your feet to head. Reverse the incline if you need to lighten the load and work up to a standard push up.
Probably by lifting weights.
