Its just a doll with a figure that is impossible for anyone to have. Just look at those who spend extreme amounts of money having plastic surgery to look like a barbie doll. It may be a doll but it has been known to lead some young girls to self body issues that can and have put them at risk for eating disorders because they want that stick figure body.
yeah shes just a doll, but how many fat barbies would they sell? its the 'must be slim image' i have a problem with. Girls of all ages need to be told and shown that's its ok not to be stick thin.
maybe its time they had a barbie that was a little fatter and had a good job, own house etc just to show that not every one is . well thin.
barbie makes girls think that it is actully normal to look the way she does. this reinforces the need in our culture for people, women especially to be super-thin. why do you think so many girls are so worried about their wieght?
