Best method to apply eyeliner?

Question:
What is the best way to apply eyeliner so I don't look like a hooker?

Answers:
If you're just learning to properly use eyeliner, I suggest starting with browns and eggplants, NOT black. Save black for later. It's too much for daytime, anyway, on most skintones.
GENTLY pull the outer edge of your lid flat (don't be rough--you'll get wrinkles later!!) and apply a thin line, smudging with a Q-tip when you're finished. Only go about 2/3 of the way across. If you want to wear it on bottom, the same applies, only you don't need to do the pull! Once you get comfortable drawing the line, you won't have to do the pull-over at all.
It's easier to apply the new retractable-type or twist-up pens, too, if you're doing some shopping. Loreal makes some great ones. Just practice. It gets easier.

Other Answers:
put it on then to make it even(uneven liner looks trashy) by taking a q tip and running it on ur lid to make it even so u can mess up and still make it look go great for being in a hurry

the best method is 2 close 1 eye and always put it on before maskara hope it works 4 u

I have always had a hard time with this, too, BUT there is a solution. Pencils are a pain because they get dull and you have all these shavings etc. it can also go on unevenly. My favorite is getting NARS eyeliner- liquid in a bottle and i got the Bare Escentuels Eyeliner brush. It is a fine long brush that you can get a nice long line. I start from the corner of the eye and move to the center, otherwise you can start to strong and have a big glob in the middle. Hold the lid with one finger so you get the skin taut, then do one long smooth line. Make it even and thin. for flare: go beyond the lid in an UPward sweep, it will look like a lash. Don't go too long, just a 1/4 of an inch or so.
Then put mascara on after, or your fingers get all black. :)
If you have fair complexion/hair use a med/dark brown. if you have darker coloring, go for black. The brown won't really show up and create the contrast you are going for.

You apply very little. dont make it too colourful or too loud. it then brings out the beauty of the eyes.
