pretend that they are naked when you talk to them.

Drugs and alcohol

try not thinking in terms of "what do they think of me?" but as i can do whatever i want(confidence)

you can help not being nervous by knowing the topic what the people are talking about and not just by blabbering whatever comes in your mind just for the sake of talking!

OH! Great Question, and I have been in your shoes!
When I walk in a room, or really anywhere, and I'm nervous about it, I walk in as if I own the place. Shoulders back, head high, not looking at the ground. I actually pretend that I am someone of importance in the particular instance.I don't make any eye contact until I am "safe" in the room, and start looking around, once the fear of being looked at goes way.
it works so often that now there is no problem

Well. If it's just when you meet people that you're nervous then try looking them in the eye--that's the hard part--and don't mumble your name, speak evenly. Practice makes perfect. Shake hands if you're not too palm sweaty, or wipe it quick and shake hands firmly but not floppy or too hard. With all that in mind, you won't have time to be nervous for long :). It works. It's hard, at first, but from first hand experience, it works. Good luck to ya, hon.

By feeling and believing that you are someone very great. Why are you nervous? Are you worried about what they will think of you? What makes you happy, the real you or the “you” the “others” see?

Trust and love yourself and think that the others will be please to have met you.

My personal experience

Pretend YOU are naked when you look at them.

Seriously:
Be a good listener. Repeat their name and use it a few times. It helps you remember and makes them feel good.

Small talk. Don't get fancy. Weather, Sports and non-controversial current events.

Breath. Have something to do with your hands. Beverage, food, smoke (even if you don't inhale), can calm you.

Smile. Nod. and move on. The more you meet the more practice you hve.

Relax. Meeting people is nothing to be nervious about. Meeting people while they are performing brain surgery on you.THAT is something to be nervous about.
