do you think being "big and beautiful" should really be celebrated?
Question:
Answers:
Everybody should have confidence in themselves and the spirit to celebrate who they are, but if being big is jeopordizing your health, then that is a warped impression of beautiful. It's on the same level as those who develop eating disorders to stay thin or using anabolic agents to become muscular. You're sacrificing your health for acceptance of a specific body type.
If you eat well, exercise daily and maintain a healthy lifestyle, there is no reason why you should not be able to maintain a healthy weight range. Even those who have a genetic predisposition towards obesity can maintain a healthy weight range if they are disciplined and consistent. It just takes work.
Since the national and international trends in developing countries is leaning towards the majority of the population being overweight, the acceptance of obesity is becoming more the norm. However, conformity to being "big and beautiful" and obesity as a norm could be extremely dangerous for the future health of successive generations. It could not only aggravate mounting health problems associated with obesity, but acceptance at early ages (especially teenagers) will inevitably result in several risk factors for death by the age of 20.
The market research firm, NPD Group, has been surveying Americans for two decades about their attitudes toward eating and weight. The following article list the percentage of people who agreed with the statement: "People who are not overweight are more attractive." There is a positive correlation between the decrease in this percentage and the increase in obesity rates.

People are getting lazier and lazier about their health and our society is moving faster and faster. It is really hard work to stay fit and maintain a healthy weight and people are just not committed to a healthy lifestyle anymore. So the end result is an acceptance of being "big and beautiful" and the "hell with everything else" type of attitude which is our "way out" of hard work.the easy way out.the "can't beat them so I'll join them" type of attitude. Being obese is not normal. I'm not referring to people who are 10 or 20 pounds overweight. Everybody has some bodyfat to lose, but people who think being 40 or 50+ pounds overweight is beautiful.well they can have that opinion of themselves rightfully..it's their life. But the reality is that they WILL eventually have to make time for serious illness associated with this acceptance.
"Big and beautiful" should absolutely NOT be celebrated. It's dangerous, it's irresponsible and it is a terrible influence to our children and successive generations.

maybe noted but not celebrated.
I think loving who you are regardless of body size should be celebrated.
Why not?
you should celebrate life and that includes being "Big and Beautiful.
celebrated as in "hey lets have margaritas," sure, but as in "holiday" no.
It's just another way for a person to think which ever way they are is ok. Be it big, small, black, white, brown..
It depends how big!
Too big, or too small for that matter is just unhealthy.
For that reason, they should not be celebrated.
I think being healthy should be celebrated rather than the "skinny" extreme or the "fat" extreme. I saw a website recently, feeder fantasy or something that was sooooo disgusting! People wanting to be 500 lbs and stuffing and glorifying obesity. that's just disgusting. But I think a 200 lb woman who's busty and has a nice round bottom and is on the bigger side of healthy deserves to be celebrated. Especially since bigger girls tend to be tortured in their youth and develop severe self-esteem issues. Love yourselves, girls!
I think people should celebrate where they are just for being alive.
LIFE in itself should be celebrated :)
