i highly doubt it was smoke -- it could have been a mist from a cleansing tool or a cloud of small tooth particles after the dentist shaved/polished one of your teeth

yes, i do believe it's some "tooth dust" as i like to call it. i do believe this happens quite often, I know I've seen it a few times when they drill

Yes. But you do know that is just from the friction of the drill as it grinds the tooth. That part doesn't scare me. It's the fire that sorta sets me back a tad.
