Can alcohol addict can treat by any medicine.?

Question:
ARE THERE ANY MEDICINE OR TRADITIONAL HERBS TO QUIT FROM DRINKING.IF NOT ANY OTHER METHOD ALSO CAN.

Answers:
Alcohol addiction is called alcoholism and I am here to tell you that there is no medicine in this world that will cure it,YOU are the only thing that can cure YOU!
Just as you find reasons to use alcohol, you will eventually find reasons to not take the medicines you say you want to help you quit drinking.
When you get in enough emotional, physical and financial pain, when you have finished destroying your life and the lives of those who have loved you and have tried to help you,you will get up off your *** and do what you need to do and that is to go to ALCOHOLICS ANONOMOUS!!
You are doing the same thing in trying to find medicines to help you quit that you are doing in your consumption of alcohol. . .Looking for an easier and softer way to deal with life.
You are living in a constant hell that YOU are creating.
Alcohol consumption/abuse is only a bandaid for those things in your life you are looking to heal, cure or cover up.
You can leave the "bandaid" off by merely stopping the consumption of alcohol but the "wound" will continue to be there and though it might seem like it is getting better without the "bandaid",eventually it will fester up again and you will be off and running with your alcohol again but then it will be worse.
Take responsibility for your alcohol consumption, pick yourself up,dust yourself off and get to an AA meeting with the same conviction you have in finding your "bandaid".
Until you decide to decide to take this step, there is NOTHING nor ANYTHING that will treat your alcohol addiction.

In the end one way or another you WILL quit drinking whether you go to AA or not.
It may be because you are in jail because your addiction catches up with you or it may because your mental health and or physical health gets so bad you will have to be hospitalized or your addiction will get bad enough you will die!!
Don't be misled, people of all economic classes have this problem. It is not just limited to those people living on the streets, sleeping on benches, and eating out of dumpsters.
Alcoholic are a different breed of people and only those people in AA know that and know how to help you. . . AA has been there for over 60yrs and growing strong in numbers.
AA isn't for people who need it,it is for people who WANT it and they will be there when you are ready to WANT it.
Until YOU are ready to make that committment may I offer to you one of Dr.Phil's sayings. . ."And how's that working for you?"
You are going to keep getting what you are getting if you keep doing what you are doing.

ANTABUSE(CITRATED CALCIUM CARBIDE)is the medicine prescrbed. If a tablet is taken before a drink, the alcohol becomes ACETALDEHYDE in the body which gives a wretched feeling ,and so the person discontinues alcohol. Many people fail to take pills and continue the drinks. There are no herbs useful to kick the habit.

If there was then the maker would make a fortune!
I had tried everything under the sun and the only thing that helped me was talking to a recovering alchoholic.
If you stop and think about it it makes sense.

It depends on your willing to heal your addiction.

There is a medicine called antibuse that seems to work well for some, and I just heard on the news the FDA is approving another med soon. Good luck.

.in my country that medicie is called antalcol (disulfiram).

There is a drug called naltrexone also called Revia that helps with cravings, wont make you sick if you drink, you just wont get drunk. It also blocks the effects from narcotics, I would recommend that you wear a medic alert bracelet in case of an accident so doctors can manage pain. You have to want to quit and will go through a rough patch psychologically that can be helped with antidepressants. Good Luck, it will get better and seeing a counselor and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for support. GOD BLESS YOU

I agree with Sami..that is the best thing to do. The normal meds that are given for alcohol and drug withdrawals are Librium or Wellbutrin, along with psychological counseling.

Personal Experience

Hi, I found thro like that addictions are difficult to deal with, and often there is an underlying difficulty in one's life.Being deeply loved by someone can encourage the reverse, and alchohol, not water is the reason we drink.Often to escape the pain, or to help us in our social interaction. The problem is as you may know better than me, that the drinking only lubricates the wretched problem.
Yet, in bravery, you have already begun, because you want to!
Wanting to, and encouragement, patience and more assistance, and keep on asking for what you need, everything you need to help you.Or if you live with someone who is suffering like this, the same help can be given.Take care, and be adventuress, carefully. sc

Addicts say a shot of whisky is the best cure!

hey leave everythin n visit a doctor .see there r no medcines to treat u from leavin alcohol.but they just weaken ur body n make u sick on havin alcohol.see best way is to stay in friends who dont drink alcohol n keep urself busy in somethin.whether studies, internet etc.

ya it can be treated by medication but i think it can be treated just by changing your mindset towards it. your nly problem is that you don't hv strong will power

Your doctor may prescribe naltrexone to help you stop drinking. Naltrexone (brand names: ReVia, Depade) is a medicine that reduces your desire for alcohol after you stop drinking. This medicine is not a complete cure for alcoholism. It can help you stop drinking while you get other treatments that your doctor will talk about with you.

Naltrexone blocks the parts of your brain that “feel” pleasure when you use alcohol and narcotics. When these areas of the brain are blocked, you feel less need to drink alcohol, and you can stop drinking more easily. Unlike disulfiram (brand name: Antabuse), another medicine that is sometimes used to treat alcoholism, naltrexone does not make you feel sick if you drink alcohol while taking it.

Like many other diseases, alcoholism affects you physically and mentally. Both your body and your mind have to be treated. In addition to medicine, your doctor will probably recommend some psychosocial treatments. These treatments can help you change your behavior and cope with your problems without using alcohol. Examples of psychosocial treatments include Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, counseling, family therapy, group therapy, hospital treatment and other similar programs. There may be special centers in your area that offer this kind of treatment. Your doctor can refer you to the psychosocial treatment that is right for you.

If you're going through Alcohol Withdrawal, it is important to see your doctor, so that it doesn't lead to more serious health problems.
