When you are trying to lose weight, it all comes down to calories. If you're looking at long-term weight-loss, don't worry about carbs, fat, sugar etc, because what it all comes down to is input vs. output. Meaning, if you work out and watch your calorie intake, you'll be fine.
If you're on a really low budget, try a low-sugar generic cereal (the ones on the bags last forever) for breakfast. Ramen for lunch and Ramen for dinner. Warning: this is for a very low budget, like $2 a day. You'll easily stay below 1200 calories a day.
For a more reasonable budget, try generic low-sugar cereal for breakfast, subway for lunch (get the daily special, it's $2.49), then a lean cuisine for dinner ($2.50 at super walmart). Get some granola bars or pretzels or what ever you prefer for snacks. And switch things around every couple of days, i.e. get a different sub etc, because the main reason that people fall off of their diets is boredom.
This question is hard to answer. If you go to the store to buy groceries all the low fat, no sugar foods are more expensive. But someone once told me, when I was complaining about the whole grain cereals at $4.00 a box, that I was worth it. It's true, I am. So now I try to find coupons and deals but if I have to pay full price I do.

just watch your portions, and stay away from fast food, its over priced anyway. You can eat a lot less food than you thought you needed and get plenty. Try an 18 hour fast(liquids only and no sugary drinks) and then the next meal you eat will really open your eyes.

darlin the best diet for you would be to eat what you like, keep it well balanced and in moderation. you may think it is more expensive but try to eat somthing atleast 5 times a day, even if it is somthing as small as a hand full of peanuts or an apple. most important have a good balanced breakfast, maybe a soup or salad for lunch and again a balanced dinner mostly veggies of choice and a couple ounces of meat, lean is best but its your choice and make sure your drinking your water.
stress.. try counting your carbs and limiting your bread intake. you are oboiously not rich so when you go to the grocery store look at the prices on things you would normally buy and look for cheap fooods with less calories, carbs and you will do fine. NEVER SKIP A MEAL. When you skip a meal to loose weight your body will do exacaly opposite of that. When you skip a meal your body turns its self into starvation mode and holds on to the fat cells you have. What ever you do eat 6 small meals a day, dont eat to late, count your calories and eat smart. Instead of a debbie cakes thats 99cents a box go for an apple thats 99 cents a bag or a bannana, instead of your ice cream grab some yogurt. instead of that cheap burger from McDonalds, go to subway and eat a turkey sandwichor go to food lion and grab some lunch meat, eat baked and not fried just watch what you are doing and if you do this i promise you that sticking to what ever you decide will work as long as you think smart and follow thru.
