Does an Asprin a day really reduce the risk of Heart Disease?
Question:
Answers:
Talk with your doctor. It doesn't reduce the risk of "heart disease" per se. It reduces the chances of your blood clotting and thus can reduce the chance of having a heart attack. But this comes at a cost of a slightly increased risk of bleeding---for instance, bleeding into the gut, into a bruise or even into the head, the latter of which is called a stroke, which can be serious. In some people, an aspirin a day is a good thing. But in some people, the risks outweigh the benefits, and only a doctor who knows the patient should give advice on this matter.
Other Answers:
Yep. And not even a "whole" aspirin. All that's needed is a "baby" aspirin. But check with your doc first.
yes it does if you are succesptible to a heart attack
my father has serious heart problems and he takes 1 asprin everyday, asprin is sometimes used as a blood thinner

common sense
i always heard that if you take it during a mild heart attack, it can help you survive.
i see no harm in taking it everyday, but you will also get used to it and build up a tolerance.. which means next time you have a headache, you will just have to deal with it.
Yes, it thins the blood, helping it to flow more easily past plaque and other build up in the blood vessels.
Yes, aspirin prevents the blood from clotting (ie clumping together). A heart attack is when a clot (clump) gets stuck in the heart and the blood cannot be pumped out efficiently. 2 baby aspirin a day are recommended for people 50 and over.
THAT'S WHAT I HEAR
I think so and reduces the odds of cancer
thats a lie only eating healthy and natural like back in god's time will reduce the risk of heart dieseas
I've heard it does, but check with your doctor on whether that would be good for you or not. Some people's stomaches cannot handle it. It's especially helpful in the event of a heart attack. BC powders saved a friend of mine.
YES..81mg.EVERY DAY!
No. Eat more tomatoes. They widen your blood vessels and really decrease risk of heart illnesses.

Aspirin is a great blood thinner and so are apples, hence, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Aspirin therapy should be regulated by your doctor. You should ask a good doctor after you ask on here.

For men it reduces the risk of a heart attack, not heart disease. Recent studies indicate that it doesn't do the same thing for women. An aspirin a day for women helps reduce their stroke risk. My husband takes an aspirin a day and Plavix. Aspirin helps prevent the formation of clots.
