I have 3 tattos and I'm thinking of getting on done on the top of my foot but yes, they REALLY do hurt. (My close friend got hers done on the top of her foot.) Since it would be a needle hitting the bone over and over again.yea, trust me, it'll hurt a lot.
but if you think the pain is worth it then by all means, more power to ya! =)

Yes, getting a tat on your foot will hurt. The best place would be on the bottom, unless your a tenderfoot! ha

i would suggest not to get one, b/c they aren't really that cute, but if you do, get one on the tops of you feet, by your toes, that looks okay
I think it's a sexy idea! My friends have toe tattoos and they said it just pinched. They also have one on top of their foot. They said it hurt because there is no fat there, but not as much as when they had to wear shoes while it was healing.
it hurts but so do all tatoos the places that hurt the most are one the breast bone(i have one there and that is THE worst place to get one done), our neck, and parts of the back hurt
my g/f has one on her foot right where a flip flop strap crosses outside of foot and she says it doesnt hurt as much as the fatty areas of the body
I don't have a foot tattoo or any tattoo actually umm. on the foot there is really no place it would hurt least becuase your feet are like central nerves besides the tounge and it would hurt anywhere on your foot but if you want a tattoo on ur foot I would say the top because andywhere you cant see and its easier to take care of if it gets infected. so just be careful

Foot Tattoos are tacky. Don't get one. They look terrible, and thing about in like 15 years when you have to go to a cokctail party at your boss' house, and you have this TATTOO sticking out of your heels.. Tacky. Before you get ANY tattoo, you should ALWAYS think about that. They're permanent, so it could cost you a good job in the future.

Foot tattoos are awesome they hurt a little. Your foot goes kinda numb so you cant feel it but just a little and after it just feels like a sunburn on your foot not a really really bad one just like a little too much sun.just keep tattoo goo on it.
Yep it hurts, and if you have a low pain tolerance I wouldn't suggest anywhere near the foot, pick a fattier area.

First off, a tattoo will not ruin your life. Make sure the parlor is state inspected and follows state health requirements.
A tattoo done on a bony area does hurt. I have the Celtic symbol for Father, Son & Holy Ghost just above my ankle. It hurt over the ankle bone, but not on the fleshier area more up towards the calf.
Also, keep your tattoo from a rub spot (where socks and clothing and normal walking wear away the skin layers naturally) -- bottom of the foot is a bad idea. The tattoo will fade faster and need touching up far more frequently.
I have a tattoo on the top of my foot, its a multi color sun. It does a hurt a little, but it wears off. You should definitely get one during the summer, that way you can wear sandels, cuz it does hurt to wear shoes for about a week after you get the tattoo. I absolutely love my tattoo, I look forward to every summer so that I can show it off!! I say go for it!! Just make sure you get something that you really want!!

my best friend has a tattoo on his foot (and practically every other part of his body!) he says the top of the foot hurts way more than the bottom. but in his case he was actually ticklish when he did on under the sole of his foot. can u believe that? TICKLISH of a tattoo! anyway. i'd say if u r gonna do one on ur foot, better try the ankle or the heel. those r the tougher spots.

I want to get a tattoo and I have asked how much they hurt anywhere on the body, the guy told me that the most painful spot on the foot would be right on top and near your toes.

My sis has a few and no matter where you get them it is going to hurt. But if you must get one on your foot I would go where you have the most padding. And don't for get, these things last forever. So take my advice: no names(unless it is your kids'),no dedications, and nothing tacky. Best to go with a really cool design.
Who cares if it hurts! The pain only lasts for a moment, but what you should be concerned about is how you will feel about it in 5, 20, 50 years.

On the pain issue..think of it this way, any area of the body with an abundance of nerve endings near the skin will make for a painful tat..also your feet are the easiest place to get an infection, remember that bacteria multiply in enclosed warm places, so if you get the tat there be sure to keep it extra clean.
