Why do Educated people think that AIDS could never happen to them and it only happen to Prostitutes and gays?
Question:
Answers:
This really depends on who you mean by "educated people," if the educated person is a doctor or familiar with public health or medicine at all, then they probably don't think AIDS could never happen to them. They would also tell you HIV/ AIDS rates are actually worse for black women, not homosexuals or prostitutes.
I think maybe the better way to frame this question is "Why might some people think that HIV/AIDS could never happen to them?" The simple answer to that question is that they are ignorant of the facts. If a person doesn't know the trends of HIV/AIDS infection, then I would imagine it would be difficult for them to make an educated guess.
Another reason why people think that any disease or disaster could never happen to them is because that's human nature. (i.e, Getting robbed? That could never happen to me. Getting a rare cancer? That could never happen to me). But the problem with HIV/AIDS is that given the trends and risks for contracting the disease is so real, that people should be made more aware of the issue. Maybe you should consider writing an op-ed or opinion piece to your local newspaper about it, I bet it would really benefit alot of people.
Other Answers:
because people are too scared to think it will happen to them so they prefer to look at it as simething that could never happen to them and live in the comfort of their lie.
Because they're ignorant
because they can afford condoms?
Well, first off, it does happen to gays but not as percieved to be. A long time ago, they said that a horny guy had sex with a monkey and thats where Aids came from. Now, how horny can one be? He was in Africa, so he couldnt find a prostitute and so he found a monkey. Get real. And furthermore, they said that the monkey passed the aids to him. this is untrue because a virus cannot move from a dog, to a cat, to a mouse, to a deer, and to humans. the virus is adapt to live within its host, and other like hosts. So, they create the story that it came from gays. Thats not true either. They blame it on whatever they dont like. Like black people so they say Africa. On gays because they dont like gays. Thats why there are still arguments about gays getting married, and religion doesnt accept them, etc etc. How do they know if their religion accepts their homosexuality or not? See? The gay story came out in about 1984. They called about say 20 or so gay couples to test them on certain things. After everything, they will get paid for it. Six months later, they were called back, and 90 percent of them or so tested positive for aids. They were injected with the virus. And so, people say that aids came from gays. And if one gay passed it from one gay to another, then the story seemed true. Educated people think that it could never happen to them because of a feeling that everybody else is inferior to them. Well, the truth is, aids was created by the government. There is substancial proof. And after you do the math, there should be at least X amount of politicians who have aids. But, how come none of them have it? Its possible that they cannot say because of their position. But, I personally dont think many of them have aids, if any at all. The rest of them are ignorant. Because aids can happen to anybody. There is also more proof that hiv develops into aids once someone tests for it. But, I have not heard of substancial proof for this. In the mean time, Im keeping my ears open and my eyes peeled.
