are there any vitamines or pills to help with depression?
Question:
Answers:
If you have serious depression, don't waste time trying to find an herbal or wholistic magic pill. There are some herbs that people claim help, but the evidence is sketchy at best. It is worth it to see a doctor. If you don't want to talk to a psychiatrist, that's fine. See your family doctor. They will ask you some questions to guage the depth of your depression, and probably prescribe medication. They work. Period. Prozac (fluoxatine oral) is extremely affordable and has hardly any negative side effects, there are other very good medications that can help as well.
A lot of people are too embarassed to ask their doctor about it. Don't be. You know if there is something wrong. show the strength to do something about it.

I hope that this doesn't make you more depressed, but you also have an extreme case of incorrect spelling.
Depression is a serious mental illness that shouldn't be taken lightly. Most of the time it's a combination of mental, emotional, neurological, and environmental factors. If you don't feel like talking with a therapist, atleast consult with a psychiatrist for the required medication. I've been on Effexor XR and for the most part it's been successful. Good Luck
I recommend St. Johns Wort.It is a natural herb, and can be found at most drug stores. It is not expensive, and it works.I have used it for 3 years.I take it everyday. There are no side effects.I hope this helps.

Herbal dictionary.
I suggest finding some to speak to, a doctor, therapist, etc. Self-medicating is bad and there is a chance that you don't need any pills at all. Make sure you go outside, be active. Depression is both physical and mental. I strongly believe that if you mentally beat it, the physical will follow. I wish you the best
You can boost your happy hormones by exercising strenuously - this releases endorphins that are healthy and also make you feel good. Another non-drug mood elevator is helping other people - if you help someone else, it improves your own mood!
You should really consult a doctor or free help line. You can try google or yahoo for options searching for "help with depression" or msn health as good advice groups too. Exercise, and good eating habits help with depression and a lot of other health issues. Dont medicate yourself or take medical advice from unqualified people. Depression is a serious condition. there is a quick and free questionaire to help determine if depression is the reason for your emotions and feelings, try them out and then join a help group online. They really help too. Also, medication isnt always the answer. I hope you get better and feel better. Good luck.

5-HTP is similar to tryptophan and works great as a mood elevator by raising serotonin levels. Exercise at least 3 times a week or more for at least 30 minutes to raise your endorphins. Take a multivitamin every morning, B-12 twice a day and Omega-3 fish oil three times a day to normalize your brain chemistry. Stay away from greasy foods and alcohol. You should also consider talking to a psychiatrist to get some meds if you don't improve.
Stop being foolish.
If you have severe depression you know you need to seek professional help. You should not try to address this at home alone.
The key is to find someone you can trust and afford.
There are several different types of therapies and counseling. I strongly recommend seeking someone that practices Christian Counseling.
Christian therapy approaches depression in a wholistic point of view. They will not rush to over medicate you, but will help you identify the source of your depression whether it is:
Spiritual (feeling of emptiness, lack of purpose, feeling unloved, cursed, tormented, hearing voices, etc.),
Emotional(dealing with a loss, past abuse, traumatic events, accidents, sudden changes),
Mental (negative, selfish, thinking; paranoia, phobias, etc.),
Physical (chemical imbalance, disease, injury, organ failure)
or all of the above. You have to examine and treat all these areas.
Your brain may have a chemical imbalance, but if you just take a pill to make you feel better, and you haven't dealt with the trauma and pain from past experiences, you're not going to progress very far.
As a matter of fact many people who begin to take antidepressants get worse, and a few actually try to commit suicide after taking the medication because the other areas were not addressed.
There are many healthy remedies you can do, but I strongly urge you not to try to handle this alone. Not now. A professional has so many therapies on hand to help you.
Time is precious. Do not waste your days in darkness.
Please call today and go talk to someone. There is no shame in working with a couselor. None.
And it works. You can get better and be healthy again all over.
