Men have nipples because men and women are originally built the same. Think how funny men would look without them. And men's nipples/breasts with enough stimulation or hormones can produce milk just like a woman. To state it simply, men and women's breasts have the same features and men could get breast cancer like women.

All mammals are blessed with nipples. In the embryonic state sexual developement has yet to take place. Neither sexual characteristic has been promted to develope by the hormonal cues and changes that occur later in the womb.
