What's worse. Anticipating pain or pain itself?
Question:
Answers:
It depends on the degree of both.
If you are expecting a lot of pain, and the actual pain isn't that extreme, than the anticipation is worse.
If you aren't expecting that much pain, and it ends up being worse, than the pain itself if worse.
If you get what you expect, that its about the same.
In general, I would say that they are about the same.

Both really suck.
Anticipating pain.
The anticipation.. it lasts longer than the actual pain.. (Unless it's a broken limb or something)
that depends on the person & the type of pain! Stories from other women about labor & delivery really had me freaked out, the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though.
Pain itself
pain itself
Anticipating pain, you usually think it'll hurt alot more than it really does once you feel it.
Anticipation for sure. it hardly even hurts when you don't see it coming. That's why I didn't think about childbirth until it came to me. I actually took it quite well considering I did it drug-free. Okay, now I'm just bragging. But really - I can't watch myself get a shot. I just squeeze my eyes shut and tell them to just do it when they're ready. When they tell me "Okay, I'm going to do it now" that 3 seconds until they actually do it is pure agony.
Well, which was worse? Throwing the rock and not listening to my theories on centifugal forces of physics or getting hit on the head when the rock flew back. I think you enjoy the pain of anticipation. Its a knowing that something back is gonna happen. Very exciting, but after the event and you do experience the pain its always a let down.
I was watching the news yesterday. Doctors did this study on this and it seems that if you are told about the pain before it happens then you would have worse sense of the pain. If you werent told about what was about to happen the pain was much less dramatic.
Did this shock sensation at the bottom of people feet.
