What do you think about Cymbalta?

Question:

I am taking cymbalta for major depression and I don't know much about it. Is anyone on the medication cymbalta? If so what are your experiences with it? I know depression hurts but what pain does it relieve exactly?

I have been on Cymbalta for three months. Not only has it not helped depression, it also does nothing to relieve any physical pain that I can see.

apparently cymbalta helps relieve "neuropathic pain," which happens in diabetes. The old meds--the tricyclics--do this, too, but they cause all kinds of problems (sedation, massive weight gain) that are undesirable. Cymbalta was OK--I mean, it was tolerable, but it wasn't amazing or anything.
