How to have the WILLPOWER?


Question:
I am on a GREAT excercise plan and i should be on a diet plant too..but I can't STOP eating what I like. I will say NO NO NO ok YEAH one wont hurt. How do I overcome this? I eat all healthy and filling all day and then someone offers me something or I see something or anything at all i give up basically and ruin what i have done all day. I need some kind of tips on how to overcome this problem. For example.ill wake up, do my excecise, eat a plain bowl of oatmeal.go to work then go to lunch, going for some tuna at the store but then i see donuts and say NO BO NO but then something just takes me straight to them and i eat like 2 then.so on a so forth. I really need help cus this is the only stump in my goal to lose weight!

The key I've found is to stop avoiding things but instead to eat them in moderation. You want a donut then eat one, rather than avoid it then it becomes your focus.
It also helps if you eat the bad things after eating other things, so eat your donut after your tuna because the tuna will fill you up a bit then you can eat just one donut instead of chowing down on two and feeling bad.
Also if you eat poorly one day, eat a little better the next. Don't stress it too much.

Also if you have a sweet tooth try stevia, you can get it at health food stores, add a tiny bit to your oatmeal, makes it sweeter without the added simple sugars. Fruit can also be good in oatmeal.

In the end, don't avoid foods, enjoy them in moderation.

I think that the first thing that you need to do is relax. If you worry about it you will never gain the willpower needed to accomplish your goal. The next thing that you need to do is realize what your goal is, if you do not have a goal then it is impossible to have willpower.

With that in mind I think that the best thing to do is to take 3 days and make a journal of what you eat, this will help you to see exactly what you are putting in your mouth and when. If you do not have a diet plan that you are following I think that the next step is to evaluate what you eat and to come up with a plan to cut back on certain areas. Do not cut back all at once. (you will feel cheated and defeated.) If you slowly cut back on the bad things that you eat you will get used to eating the right way, this will become a good habit (because it will be a habit the willpower will come naturally).

The important thing is that you cut back slowly, if you don't there could be complications. Our bodies react to everything that we do and it takes time for us to become used to a new routine. Remember that no one is perfect and that if you fall off track that you can allways get back up and try again.

*I usually pick one day a week and treat myself to somthing that is bad for me. A cheat day*
