If you really want to have white teeth, try a bleaching kit off ebay. Theyre cheap and they work! (i think i paid $8US for a 22% kit and 35% gel) The active ingredient is carbamide peroxide which is one of the whitening agents that dentists use. Its available in 22 and 35% strength. Id start out with the 22% and work up to the 35% in a couple of weeks :) They dont recommend you use the product if you are under 18, so if you are i would try colgate whitening which is also pretty good and easier to use as well.

Brush your teeth twice a day with good old fashioned baking soda, use hydrogen peroxide for your rinse.You should see a noticable difference within 7-10 days. If you keep up the regimen, it will remain permanently.

None of those treatments do much of anything.
What actually works is going to see a dentist and having the Brite-Smile technique done. For a couple hundred dollars and an hour of your time you will get perfect, crisp, white teeth.
Nothing much else works.
The trouble with buying a kit off Ebay is the trays won't fit your teeth. A dentist can make a custom tray for you which will direct the solution only on your teeth, instead of it gooshing out in your mouth and possibly hurting your gums.
At 22% solution, you should not have it in contact with your gums. A custom tray will give you much better results.
Okay this is a beauty secret that obviously isn't well known hydrogen peroxide and baking soda don't use it more than once a week and don't swallow any of it but it will bright your teeth 3 shades.
