I'm looking for non-medical help for depression.?

Question:
My brother just lost his son & is struggling, but is very much opposed to medication. ADHD might also be a part of the problem.

Answers:
Since your brother's depression has been caused by a traumatic event, rather than from a chemical imbalance, the best thing for him is time. Getting over a death of a loved one is not a quick or easy process, and it is normal, of course, to struggle with such an event. In the meantime, make sure he is surrounded by friends and family who are willing to listen when he feels like talking or distract him when he feels like living.

Other Answers:
just say what ever would be in your mind .
and avail the time unless the time will avail you.

pray

Money will make you happy. Anyone who says different obviously has it.

Vitamin C has been shown to improve mood on a temporary basis. Exercise can help as well. But your brother really should seek professional help, even if it's only talk therapy without meds.

Acceptance. Why are you depressed? Is there something you can do to change it? If not, you must accept what you can't change . . .although I do believe in "Where there's a will, there's a way." Sometimes you just need to look at a situation(s) from a different perspective. Herbs help(care must be used, if you choose along these lines.), color therepy (surround yourself with any color(s)that makes you feel happy) and aromatherepy( citrus fruits, rose - really any flower of fruit fragrance but ensure that you really like it.). Gem therepy (rose quartz can heal a hurting heart).
