I use a liquid called Acnesol (or Aknesol?), I don't whether it is available in the USA as I'm from Europe, but it was very efficient and can be applied not only to your back but your face as well.
if you have long hair, it might be the oils from your hair going onto your back, when i cut my hair it went away, but you can also try and put it up more often than not
