This works every time, Get a big glass of water, hold the glass in one hand, plug your nose with your other hand, have someone plug your ears (press really tight on ears) and drink the water as fast and as much as you can. It has never failed yet.

I had hick ups when I was a kid and my aunt told me to pinch my nose and drink some water. I know it sounds weird but it works pretty much every time. Sometimes I do twice in a row.
My daughter eats a spoonful of sugar--really. She puts it all into her mouth at once and swallows it quickly. I have heard that the swallowing action is the reason this works.

the reason we get hickups is the way of our breathing pattern changes, but here is a solution that works for me.. Hold your breath for 10 seconds and picture 3 bald headed men. I usually use homer simpson when doing this.. It always works.. :)
None of those others has worked consistently for me.
The best and easiest thing I've found that works nearly evertime is to take a mouthful of water, stand on your head, and swallow it. Oddly enough, it does go up to your stomach, and the hicuups will be gone.

I just tell them to stop. I figured, it's my body, surely I can control it. So I just concentrated on making them stop. It usually takes a lot of concentration. I just imagine that little epiglotis (flap over your wind pipe) staying closed. Taking some slow, deep breaths helps and just keep telling that little flap not to move. I can almost always make my hiccups stop just by taking control of that part of my body and telling it to stop. It's kinda like meditation. But, hey, it's your epiglotis. Make it stop flapping. We really have more control over our bodies than we think.
Just take a glass full of water, hold it to the lips and drink it as slowly as possible. Try to take as long time as possible, EVEN, THREE WEEK OLD HICK-UPS WILL GO.You will be surprised by this, naturally.
