i maintain my weight without dieting, will lose weight faster than average if i workout?

i take in about 1800 calories a day and my weight has maintained for years but i want to lose weight and someone told me that since i eat the appropriate amount to maintain my weight that i wil lose weight easier and faster than someone that yoyos, yoyos with weight and with calorie intake.any info would be appreciated. i see the lodgic but wanted to see if anyone else has heard this and if it is true,maybe why if anyone knows. thanks
