NO- I know that people usually dont want 2 show their pictures on the internet. Im one of them.
Some of the avatars look downright nasty. Others are cute or amusing. I think it might be better if it were limited to either a photo or the smiley. All the avatar is saying is "I don't want anyone to know what I REALLY look like." This could lead to abuses, and I for one would rather not have the option of an avatar if they might be misused by dishonest persons. It's just the sensible precaution to take.
