Just for girls. Is it normal to be really sick/shakey at the same time as you get period pains?

Today I had period pain so I went to the school office to get a paracetamol and then just after I had taken a paracetamol I started shaking and my frined said I was soooooo pale. My period pain got much worse and I was starting to feel sick. I went back to the office but there was a queue and while I was in the queue I got really really hot and started sweating. I then had to run to the toilet to be sick. Then for about an hour I was waiting in the medical room and I threw up again. I went to sleep for about half an hour and then felt much better.
Is this in any way normal. I have never had this before and was wondering if anyone else had.

I have felt that sick before in the past.but it turned out that I had an ovarian cyst. You should speak to a GYN about this, as period pain is normal and being part of a woman.you are getting very extreme. Also.if the Paracetamol (Tylenol) was the cause of it, you may have to reconsider the pain remedy you are taking. Possibly Advil(IB) would be a better choice for you, as you may have had an allergic reaction to the Tylenol. I know I'm allergic to Tylenol and everything that you described is EXACTLY what happens if I take it. It all happens anywhere from 5 min to 45 min after taking it and it's not fun.

Yes, it's quite normal. just eat lighter and avoid heavy activity for awhile during and 1-2 weeks after your period ends.

it sounds to me like it was the medecine you took. maybe its too strong for you or if you took it on an empty stomach that will cause it too. next time make sur you eat first and if you still get sick then you need to start taking something different.

Yes, yes it is. Every woman's body is different so it will react differently when their period comes. I use to know if my period was going to be a bad one by the way my body would react. I use to get severe migraines whenever i would have my period. I would pop a couple of Midol or Pamprin and sleep. then i would feel a little better.

Sounds like you had a bad reaction to the drug. Ask to see the information about the drug and see if the symptoms match those of the precautions.

Taking anything on an empty stomach isn't advised unless otherwise noted on the bottle. It really sounds like you got sick from the pill.

I've never had this happen,but we are all different.Maybe you are truly ill,and it just happened to happen at the same time as your period.I would call your doc.

I have not ever had a reaction this bad, but I'm not sure what you mean by paracetamol, but if this is like midol you may have had a reaction to it. My aunt has sever pain with her cycle though and we found these therapeutic magnets and they work great. She just puts them over her ovaries and the pain goes away or gets better, she also has health conditions that cause this pain, so you may need a check up. Well it depends, When I first started having my menses i was 12, It was really heavy, for 7 days and I would get the chills and cramp real bad. And working as a paramedic and std counselor it is actually not unusual. Just find what helps you to relax.
