What are the chances of having a lump in your breast and it being cancerous after being there 2 weeks?
3 weeks ago I went to the dr and he felt a lump the size of an acorn and sent me for a mammogram and they said I need further testing cause it was still there and they really couldnt tell. I now have to go have an ultrasound done. I am scared of the results and wanna be prepared for the worst. Can anyone tell me what the chances of it being cancerous is if it is till there after this long?

The immediate concern when any woman (or man) finds a lump is that it must be a malignant tumor. Thankfully, fully 80% of lumps found turn out to be benign. They can be caused by infections, trauma, or fibrocystic changes. The bottom line is, you're doing what you can to manage a potential situation. This is not the time to panic, as you don't yet know what condition you have. It's the time to be thankful that whatever you have, you and your doctor are managing it, and exploring the problem as quickly as possible. Remember to do self breast exams frequently, and report any changes to a health professional. Good luck.

There is always the chance of it being cancer, but try to stay positive. There are also other things it could be. It could be just a fluid filled cyst. I have fibrocystic breast disease and my breasts are filled with lumps. Just continue to do as your doctor recommends because the sooner you get answers, the better you will feel. The waiting is the hardest. I will keep you in my prayers.what is a disease ofe the immune system and what is it treated with?
I don't think you should worry about it at this point. Does the lump hurt? If yes than its just inflammation. Did you hurt yourself by any means recently? Then it can be a simple fat accumulation. Is is free from the underlying muscle ? if yes its just a cyst. Are you lactating? if yes it can be milk collection .Do you take oral contraceptive pills? Or you have family history of breast cancer? Or the mass is firm fixed to base of your breast? if yes then let the doc review your reports.Sometime even over cautious examination make you feel that something is abnormal but it isn't.
He probably will ask you for fine needle aspiration biopsy .
I would suggest you to check your hormone levels and if you are low on progesterone just ask you doc to start bioidentical progesterone cream 200 mg every day to apply on your breast and you will notice that your lump will disappear soon. in my opinion its just a FBD or fibrocystic breast .So don't worry .
SMILE NOW!!
By the way 3 week time is not even worth to worry.
