I have freakin poison ivy on my legs. i have rashes now and they itch like hell. how do i get rid of the rash?

i am taking cortizone 10 for the itch but will this help heal the rashes too? if not what will heal the rashes? thanks for any advice

A product called Ivyrest is the best thing I have found to dry up Poison Ivy. Only bad thing is that the cream is pink, but it really does work. Other options are thing like rubbing alcohol, does not work as well, and things like that. I would suggest the Ivyrest though, it is good stuff as long as you don't mind have the pink creme on your legs. If you don't want it on your legs when you are out, just wear it at home and it will dry it out, might take longer though.

You cant get rid of the rash. The only thing you can do is try to deal with the itching. I wrapped my arms in gause so that the fabric of my shirt did not continue to rub.

The only thing that will get rid of the rash is time. I got it last year and you can still see the places on me. They look like bruises now. The cortisone should help to clear up the rash sooner than doing nothing at all. There is some over the counter lotion you can put on the rash that will help dry it up. I think it is called ivy aid.Good luck.
