Should I Go Vegitarian?
I have been considering for a while becominge a vegitarian for weight loss/save the animal reasons. I feel somewhat betrayed by myself for feeling this way because my dad hunts and fishes alot. I have no clue if being a vegitarian is right for me. My parents might make me eat meat.

I think that we all have different needs biochemically. Some people do great as vegetarians; others, though, do need animal products. If you want to lose weight and also open your heart to the plight of animals, I suggest first trying a good vegetarian diet that incorporates a good balance of vegetables, fruit, whole grains and proteins. Many vegetarians don't know the proper way to combine their foods into a healthful diet, so do some good research. Brown rice, lentils, veggies, etc. If you feel low energy after trying this, then you may need animal products. Do not at all feel guilty for this! But do seek out only wild-caught fish, free range chicken, and other naturally raised animals. They have, hopefully, lived a better life than other animals raised for our food. Your dad hunts and fishes.if he is good at it (swift and accurate), and also uses the whole animal respectfully (using all parts, and eating the flesh), than he is in accordance with a humane approach to our balance. Native Americans know how to hunt and respect the animal. It's a wonderful spiritual balance. Maybe you can discuss this with your parents. Good Luck!

Look into Raw Food dieting before you head down the vegetarian road. It can be done properly, but takes some serious effort to avoid long term depletion of certain nutritients. Most veg's I know are uneducated on proper diet and food combining to ensure proper protein and fat consumption. Protein and fat are critical for body function and repair -- long term depletion by avoidance can lead to chronic health issues. It's a great idea if you are willing to put the effort into it - by this I mean eating foods you may not like because you need the nutrients.Best of wishes

Can you get scabies from a toilet seat or old buildings?
i am against vegetarianism. you wouldn't get all of the complete proteins that you would if you ate meat, and you need meat for energy and good fats. plus what's with all the save the animal stuff? nature is like that: animals eat other animals to preserve themselves. survival of the fittest. humans have always used animal and plant products for their and society's benefit.what are the pricing situation on insulin pumps?
As a fitness professional, I can tell you that a vegetarian diet is a great idea, but is not reasonable. Animals are on the earth for a reason. Your body needs very little animal protein, but it does need some. It's good to watch what you are eating, but you can let yourself have lean meat and dairy products. It's okay. Go have a steak tonight.NO WAY, animals are tasty. That is why we are on top of the food chain if baby cows and chickens didn't want to get eaten so much then they would adapt. Like grow poisonous fangs or huge talons or something like that.

i EAT MEAT TOO, BUT READ SOMETIMES -THAT MEAT CAN STAY IN a person's boy -bowels; colon; or intestines--a long time. I have read that it could harden up and stay SOMEWHERE down there and not go out with poop like it should./// I have a paperback back book about being vegitarian and read it and it sounded good! but thus far i've not made myself try it yet! best wishes! ( i think that book i've referred to--tells how a person won't feel better til we get de-toxified and to do that i think it may have stated to only have fruit-juices for 3 ? days. sorry - i guess i not much help, but i sort of BELIEVE anyone would be healthier IF we were vegetarians; i'm not sure if we would need to take certain vitamins and minerals---if we go on vegetarians ONLY DIET.Is eating raw dried cuttlefish or squids good for health?.?
I agree with the other posters that you need to take care on a vegetarian diet to ensure that you get all the nutrients your body needs to be healthy and strong. However, I would also have to point out that that is true in any type of diet, consider for instance the Standard American Diet (SAD) of fast food hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, french fries, etc. Is this nutritionally balanced? Certainly not. There have been numurous studies which indicated that not only are vegetarians healthier than omnivores, they live longer and are less at risk for major killers such as colon cancer and heart disease. Whether omnivore or vegetarian you should eat a wide variety of foods including a rainbow of vegetables, fruits, grains and legumes in their least refined forms for optimum health. Consider our closest genetic relatives in the animal world, the primate family, and the Gorilla specifically. He lives entirely on fruits and vegetables and is both very large and very muscular. I personally am the only vegetarian in a large family of omnivores, since I became a vegetarian 3 years ago I have experienced no adverse health effects, in fact I have noticed weight loss, my complexion has cleared up, and my seasonal allergies have all but disappeared. My family has been very supportive and has respected and even applauded my decision to go veg. Read as much as you can about vegetarianism online or by checking books out at your library. Then sit down with your parents armed with your new knowledge and respectfully discuss your decision. They may be surprised or flustered at first, or have questions or concerns which hopefully you'll be able to answer from your research. You should check out "Fast Food Nation", it is a very compelling and eye opening look into the meat industry and the way they treat the animals they raise. Anyway good luck and good health no matter what you decide!More Questions and Answers
