Some drugs are extremely addictive. People may not have a choice depending on what drugs they choose. So - drugs can ruin "ur" life.
i'm pretty sure it depends on the drug. take meth. that stuff controls you. but then on the other hand there's stuff like. say pot. that wont ruin your life unless you make it ruin your life. but i think for the most part they kind of make a slave of you so you lose some control. aka they ruin your life

I think that ultimately drugs are capable of ruining your life. You are better off not even trying drugs. If you want to tell yourself that "they will only ruin my life if I let them", then that is up to you. If you are telling yourself what you want to hear just so you can continue on doing drugs, then ultimately, yes, drugs will probably ruin your life. I am not saying you are on drugs. I'm hypothetically speaking.

Well, the next time I go by my nephews grave I'll see if he'll tell me. He died of a drug overdose (heroin) about 8 years ago. He was only 21, and I am sure as hell he didn't want this to happen.

Drugs take over your mental processes. So if you think you are in control you really are not. Your perception becomes warped and unrealistic. Drugs may feel good but they will ultimately ruin your life. Drugs make you feel good temporarily.
