what job description do you need for makeup artist?
Question:
Answers:
I believe that having a cosmetologist license would help as well as having a knack for applying cosmetics on others. I'm not sure if the cosmetologist license is mandatory, but I think it would help. I think there is such a thing as an esthetician's certificate, but I'm not positive about that. You could go to your favorite cosmetics place at the mall, and ask the representative there what is required to become an employee out there. I knew someone who didn't have either of these licenses but was trained and able to work as a representative for a well-known cosmetic line. (I do believe that they put her through their own training courses first.) If it is something that you are interested in, go ask several different places what are the prerequisites, etc. and go for it!

Why don't you work at a cosmetic counter first. They'll send you off to training and then you can see if it is job for you.
