I want to learn more at work?
Question:
Answers:
Saying "don't worry about it" is accurate, but not so helpful.
1- Check with a dermatologist to make sure that you are using the best treatment for the itching and the pimples. A cortisone might help the itching to be less.
2- Can you develop other strategies for learning and collaborating, such as phone or email? If you have a good rapport with clients and coworkers over the phone or email, you will be less anxious and scratch less when you interact with them face to face.
Other Answers:
You can probably desensitize yourself fairly easily. Go to a friend you really trust, even a sister or brother, and play the staring game. Just look at each other without speaking for 30 seconds. Then stop and talk about your feelings. Then try 60 seconds, and stop and talk. Do this until it becomes easy for you. If you don't have someone to do this with, it is easy to find a counselor who will help you.
As to the scratching, as others have said, see a doctor about your skin or a mental health professional about obsessive scratching -- or both.
