i had mine done, had it in 5 years. you just have to make sure if you do it, to research the one that will be doing it. make an appointment with someone and talk to them about how many years they have been doing that sort of piercing.

If you don't count swelling, infection, damage to the nerves in your tongue and the chance of dying from either brain infection (if you get an infection in your tongue it can travel to your brain) respiratory distress (if your tongue swells too much you won't be able to breathe) or choking, then sure. It's safe as can be.

It can be. When I was in college and lived in the dorm the girl across the hall had hers done and they hit something wrong in her tounge and it swelled up and closed off her wind pipe. The rescue squad inserted a trach (sp?) tube into her throat so she could breathe. I would find someone who comes highly recommended if you still want one after reading this.

Only if it swells up and chokes you to death or gets infected and you die of blood poisoning. Otherwise it's fine, but ugly and the bar can damage the back of your teeth.

it depends on where you do it. there is a nerve in your tongue that can cause nerve damage if you hit it.

not at all. and it does not bleed. as long as you follow the instructions that are given you will not have any problems. now if your friend does it at your place, that can be dangerous. You need to do it in a sterile enviroment with sterile equipment.

It can very much possibly be, if you don't take care of it properly, and that goes for any piercing. You are pretty much putting a hole in your body that was not there from birth. There is nothing wrong with it if that is what you want to do but what ever decision you make when it comes to mutilating your body you should do some research first. For the record I have three tattoos and I had my belly pierced it didn't go well I took it out, I should have done the research on that first then maybe I would still have it. Good luck with your choice.
