Help I scalded my breast?

Question:
I was taking a shower with my two year old and she turned on the hot water. I was able to get away at first but in order to keep her from getting burned, I had to get back under it. I immediately put ice on it and the redness has gone away but now I have pain deep inside and I can see all my veins are now dark red. I still have breast milk also. I am not sure if that has anything to do with the lingering pain. Could I have damaged my milk glands?

Answers:
you might have some inflammation (latin for "fire). It's not a good idea to put ice on it, but to put a cool wash cloth.

Aloe Vera is a good safe remedy for surface burns. If the areola is scalded it may be more serious than a surface burn and inflamation because there are tiny glands in them to keep them lubricated from drying out too much.
