should I go to the doctor if I hit my eye?

Question: those little plastic pieces that are attached to tags. I went to got pull the tag and the plastic piece shot up and hit the white part of my eye and part of my brown eye, It didnt touch the pupil. Now my eye hurts and a little red. It hurts to strain my eye. I wear contacts so I dont know if this helped to protect it. should i go to the doctor?
