What tests would determine thyroid and esophagus cancer?

Question:
Please give me an honest answer.

Answers:
first, they would do some scanning to see your thyroid and esophagus. If it's bigger than normal, they will do a confirmation test to see if it's either cancerous or not. they would take some of your blood to determine what is known as tumor markers..well,you must be aware that thyroid releases hormone into your blood, this hormone can act as tumor markers, if it's volume is much more higher than usual..they would do another test for a complete confirmation. they would take biopsy (tissue sample) from the concern area and subject to microscopic observation to see if there is abnormality to the cell. This is also how they detect if it's malignant or benign.then they will determine if it's cancerous or not. They would do the same test on any other organs including esophagus. another obvious signs that you can observed for yourself is, are there any swelling around your neck area.

Other Answers:
depends on how big it is. if its benign or malignant. if its huge it will be noticed right off. but if its small bits you may see them with an x ray, mri or ct scan. if they are granulated they may use a ct scan or mri because they may not be noticed by mear x rays. treat ment is what you should be looking more into. its rather life altering.

On a serious note, my father in law was diagnosed with both and the tests were an upper GI. You are asleep and it is painless. The worse part is the drink you drink before the test. Good luck, and one of the symptoms is feeling full and not really being able to swallow. Otherwise, don't worry. An extremely positive attitude is the key. I should know, I went through 7 different surgeries in 5 years.

CT scan or MRI would be probable starting tests for diagnosis. Then an actual excision biopsy where a small bit of suspected cancer would be removed for further examination. This set of tests would take about a month from start to diagnosis. good luck
