Answers:
There are a dozen or more symptoms of PMS, ranging from physical (sore breasts, bloating) to emotional (crying uncontrollably, turning into b*tch queen of the universe - um, I mean, irritability). So far, they haven't figured out exactly what causes PMS, and therefore don't know exactly how to treat it. There's a good link below about PMS.

Personally, I've found that for my BQotU tendencies, taking Vitex (Chastetree Berry) daily makes a huge difference. You can get it at GNC or through drugstore.com (I like Nature's Way brand). You have to take it all the time, like a vitamin supplement, not just during PMS. It takes a couple of months to kick in, but once it does, you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel. I took it for a couple of years and then stopped about a year ago. In the last few months I've had the ugly monster rear its head, so I've started taking it again.

What do you think makes you so volitile when you are in that time frame? It's probably because of the way your body feels as it gears up for your period.

When your boyfriend feels bad, he tells you. Your PMS is just another way of saying, I don't feel good. Maybe before you bite, you let him have that much warning."I do not feel well." I mean, maybe that would be like a kinder way to teach him to "stand back!"

Try talking to your doctor, he or she may know a way to help with your stress at that time too. If you are on the pill or a hormone type birth control, that could effect it too. Maybe the added hormones are making you more irritable?

Good luck to you AND your boyfriend! ;-)

Been there, done that.husband has the emotional scars to prove it. LOL!

my boyfriend literally hates my hormones when I have PMS :)) whenever I feel cranky, he just starts "is it the end of the month yet?" :) well, I know for a fact that yoga works very well, and relaxation before sleep ( you can find methods in meditation sites). good luck!
