No. I feel that marriage is an archaic ritual whose place in the world is more of an affirmation of love than the spiritual bond that some folks would have you believe. I think that if your heart is set on getting married, go for it, but I feel no compulsion to join in.
As for kids, I also seem to be lacking the drive to create little versions of myself. With unchecked reproduction, the toll that all these little mouths are taking on the world seem to outweigh the benefits of having a kid.
I'm quite happy with a girlfriend and a rescued street-cat.
A girl once said, "Ah. Wedded bliss! Walking down the aisle to meet with the man (or woman) you’ve loved for so long and join them in holy (or unholy) matrimony. Yes a dream for most and a large dream of mine. And kids! Lots of them! Running around chasing the pet ferret whilst you and your loved one enjoy the sunshine. My partner and I have spoken of marraige for a while, and maybe, just maybe, in a few years he will propose. So don’t think you’ll be seeing this one done any time soon. Unless an accident of some human form occurs…"
While some says "That bride image up there irks me. I've heard girls plan their wedding from about age eight - I never even thought about it, not once, no images of doves and flowers and dressing my friends up like bad disco queens. When people would ask, I used to tell them I was going to be married by an Elvis impersonator in Vegas, but that started to sound cliché, so I switched to being married by a mime in Paris. The mime aspect makes them cringe."
Despite sentiment, we should note that the main function of a marriage contract is economic. It sets the rules for division of assets in the event of a marriage coming to an end. This raises important questions as to whether the contract is appropriate for the situation, and whether the parties are well informed when they inter into a contract.
