Is it safe to use crutches on a ceramic tile floor?

Question:
My 11yo son cut the bottom of his foot, is unable to walk on it without crutches, but our entire house is ceramic tile. Wondering if it would be better for him to use a wheelchair for a couple of days instead.

Answers:
The rubber tips should be able to handle it.

Other Answers:
Ceramic tile is very slick, indeed. Having experienced using crutches for 6 months, I can sympathize. Considering his age, and that the whole house is tile, I would suggest a wheelchair. To decrease the chance of him losing muscle tone in his functional leg tho, I'd remove the foot rest and let him roll himself as much as possible. It doesn't take long to 'lose' muscle if it isn't used. Good luck :)

if the tile was installed correctly it will be fine. if he uses a wheelchair you are likely to have to repair the door jams and walls
